Sierra MatchKing rifle bullets are super-accurate bullets with very thin jackets and are held to exacting tolerances in diameter and weight. Their accuracy has been acclaimed worldwide and they have been used to win more target competitions than all target bullets from other manufacturers combined. Weight retention is held to within /- 0.3 grain. Sierra has enhanced a segment of the MatchKing line by adding the acetal resin tip, thus crowning the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag, producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. Due to the ballistic advantage that the tip provides, the 168 Tipped MatchKing (TMK) will stay supersonic at 1,000 yards at normal .308 Winchester velocities, unlike its untipped counterpart. The Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet is an excellent choice for Palma and F-Class (FTR / F Open) matches, as well as 3-Gun and various other competitions. SIERRA 30 (.308) 115gr HP BULLET VARMINTER 500/bx

Sierra is now offering our #2116 0.308” 115gr HP Varminter as a Green Box item. Originally offered in our 300 AAC Blackout #A2116-33 ammo, it has given proper feeding and functioning in all forms of firearms chambered for this cartridge.
From the 300AAC, it is perfectly suited for varmint use up to a medium sized game animal like whitetail with proper shot placements, but it can also be used from a wide variety of other cartridges. From a faster velocity cartridge, like a 308 Winchester, it would be better suited for varmints as it will give an exceptionally deadly expansion quality. It has a 0.267 G1 BC so it will travel well, even out to 250 yards and possibly more with the right zero.

SIERRA 30(.308) 165gr SBT BULLET GAMEKING 100/Box

For rifles in 30 caliber, these bullets are designed for medium- to long-range hunting with cartridges having medium to large case capacities for powder. These bullets often display match grade accuracy from accurate hunting rifles. The famous Sierra Spitzer Boat Tail shape assures flat trajectory, excellent resistance to crosswinds and vertical winds, and maximum energy delivery to the target. Good penetration and expansion are characteristic of these bullets even at the reduced impact velocities at long range. With the weight range available, at least one of these bullets will prove ideal for almost any 30 caliber cartridge. The 165 grain #2145 bullet is best suited to medium game at all velocity levels, and game the size of elk could be taken with confidence providing velocity doesn't exceed 3000 fps and the range is limited to about 300 yards.

For rifles, this 150 grain #2115 Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail bullet is designed for semi-automatic types, and it functions flawlessly in the M14/M1A, M1 Garand and similar rifles. The cannelure is located to provide an overall length suitable for both the 308/7.62 NATO and the 30-06 cartridges. This 150 grain FMJBT bullet also is a good bullet at medium and low velocity for hunting game with valuable pelts to be preserved.
In handguns, this 150 grain #2115 FMJBT bullet is ideally suited to the hunter who requires a non-deforming bullet to minimize pelt damage. Velocity should be kept low, and ranges must be correspondingly short to minimize damage to the pelt.

The bullet weight performs admirably on deer-sized game and is suited to larger deer and black bear at shorter ranges. PowerJacket construction assures reliable expansion with good penetration. Though designed for the 30-30 cartridge, the use of these bullets is not restricted to that cartridge. It is slightly “harder” than its 165 grain Spitzer Boat Tail counterpart and will give superior penetration and good expansion on medium game with excellent accuracy. This is a good medium-weight bullet choice for shooters of 30 caliber magnum rifles who desire a bullet that will not deform at the point.
For handguns chambering 30 caliber cartridges, this 165 grain #2140 bullet is “hard” and will expand in medium to large game only when driven at a muzzle velocity of 2500 fps or more, which is achievable in the 308 Winchester cartridge in the Remington XP-100 handgun or a similar combination. It can, of course, be used for handgun silhouettes or other target purposes.
