The polymer tip of the V-Max bullet is the key to its dramatic accuracy and devastating expansion, even in long range, low-velocity situations. These .224 diameter, 55 grain hollow point boat tail bullets have a serrated cannelure manufactured in the USA. These projectiles feature a copper drawn jacket and an all lead core in a boat tail profile.  These will make exceptional 5.56 Nato or .223 Remington loads for punching paper or varmint hunting.  The hollow point is small and the shape/profile is designed to feed reliably from a magazine in AR platforms.  The consistency in weight and diameter is exceptional and everything you would expect from Hornady.  The balance of quality and price in these projectiles make them a rock solid value no matter what your application.

For rifles, this bullet is designed for explosive expansion in varmints and small game and with accuracy characteristic of the MatchKing bullets. The nose tips of this bullet is made of a proprietary acetyl resin compound, and the sharp tips improve the ballistic coefficient over the traditional flat-base Spitzer bullet design. The 40 grain BlitzKing #1440 has a flat base. All the BlitzKing bullets in 22 caliber are designed to be fired at muzzle velocities up to 4400 fps. For handguns, the BlitzKing bullet is especially effective in varmints and small game for the full range of centerfire cartridges in 22 caliber. They have outstanding accuracy, a flat trajectory and superb expansion in small animals even with the smaller-capacity cartridges. The 40 grain #1440 bullet is recommended for smaller cartridges, such as the 22 Hornet up to the 222 Remington. This is NOT LOADED ammunition.
