The fully tapered copper-alloy jacket ruptures instantly at the thin jacket mouth, yet the gradual thickening along the bullet’s axis controls expansion and curls the jacket uniformly outward at high and low velocities. Nosler’s integral partition supports the expanded mushroom and retains the rear lead-alloy core. The enclosed rear core retains more than two-thirds of the original bullet weight for deep penetration. Berry's Preferred Plated bullets begin as a swaged lead core. The swaged lead cores are tumbled in an electrically charged bath containing high-grade copper ingots. Hornady 30cal (.308) 150gr FMJBT Bullet 100/Box
Hornady’s Full Metal Jacket bullets replicate the bullets used in military “ball” ammunition. Full Metal Jacket Bullets are designed so that the bullet is completely encased in a hard metal jacket (except for the base), which is not intended to expand upon impact. The Boat Tail design is to provide a flatter trajectory and long range performance by raising the ballistic coefficient.
These bullets are primarily used for target shooting and plinking. Also ideal for varmint hunting, this bullet will deliver deep penetration and bone shattering results while also protecting the integrity of the pelt at the same time.
