The powder measure is case activated; it will only drop powder if a case is present. When a case is present the powder bar will travel it's full length until is flush with the body of the powder measure. This allows the powder bar to align with the powder funnel to drop the powder charge. The case activated feature saves you from messy spills while you setup your press or if for some reason a case is not present when you cycle the press.
The Dillon Precision Powder Measure uses an adjustable volumetric powder bar to regulate charge weights. This is accomplished by adjusting a screw on the end of the powder bar which in turn regulates the size of the volume into which the powder will drop. You must use a reliable scale to set the correct charge weight as you adjust the volume the powder bar will drop. Dillon Precision manufactures four types of powder bars:
LEE – Auto-Disk Adjustable Powder Charge Bar
The Lee Auto-Disk Adjustable Powder Charge Bar is adjustable between .28 CC and 1.6 CC allowing the reloader to develop precise charges. Each adjustment line on the thimble is .1CC. This charge bar comes packaged with a volume measuring density chart for all of today's popular powders and detailed setting instructions. This is a disk with a micrometer setting on it to precisely adjust the powder charge. It is always recommended to weigh out charges.

The Lee Improved Powder Measure Kit is the perfect powder measure kit for the reloader who is looking for a set of dippers for small batch reloading. These dippers are inherently safe as they measure powder by volume and cannot get out of adjustment. This kit includes 15 uniformly graduated dippers that measure from .3 cubic centimeters to 4.3 cubic centimeters and a handy application table that shows what powder charges can be thrown with each dipper. The Lee Perfect Powder Measure features a soft elastomer wiper that eliminates cut powder and jerky action. The smooth rotor operation results in incredibly uniform charges. A nylon cone shaped drum is self-lubricating so it will never bind or wear out. The micrometer adjustment reads directly in cubic centimeters. Just multiply the charge in grains by the cc for one grain and you have the setting. Works fine for charges from 2 grains to over 100 grains. Changing powder is fast and easy with the removable hopper. With the optional Universal Charging Die, the powder measure becomes case operated. Includes adapters to fit almost all cartridges.

The innovative design will not cut powder and almost totally eliminates leakage, the large hopper with shut-off valve is attached with brass thumb nuts for the ultimate in disk changing convenience. The positive pull-back lever increases safety. Comes with four disks, swivel adapter and spring return lever with spring.
