Redding dies are made of the finest alloy steels obtainable and machined on Hardinge Super- Precision lathes capable of holding the tightest tolerances in the industry. This guarantees that they will produce ammunition that will properly fit any standard (SAAMI) chamber, regardless of action type. To maintain tolerances and guarantee that your dies will last a lifetime, all Redding dies are heat treated in atmospherically controlled furnaces. Finally, your dies are hand polished for smooth, flawless functioning, go through final inspection, and are ultrasonically cleaned and packaged. The die box is a handy cartridge loading block and storage package. Inside is a spare decapping pin, hex wrench, and even a place for your shellholder (sold separately). All Redding dies use the industry standard 7/8-14 threaded bodies. Deluxe die sets for bottleneck cases include a full length sizing die, seating die and neck sizing die.

•Lee Precision includes the expander appropriate for a .308 diameter bullet. Nearly everyone that reloads the 7.62×54 /7.62×53 uses the .308 diameter bullet. The availability and selection of .308 bullets are far greater than .311. In military issue ammo they used a .309 to .311 diameter bullet. The smaller expander is included as standard issue as it is usable for .308 as well as .310 diameter bullets if the larger expander was installed it would not be usable with smaller .308 diameter bullets. The limited amount of load data that is available usually is worked up using .308 diameter bullets.
