Soft point .303 British ammunition is available for the .303 Brit and is the ammunition of choice for most hunting uses with this chambering. Soft point bullets do not have their lead cores completely enclosed by a metal jacket; rather, the gilding metal jacket ends toward the bullet's tip exposing the lead core. This bullet design enables significant expansion of the bullet's diameter when encountering the target.
