The Hornady® SST® (Super Shock Tip) is designed to deliver tremendous shock on impact while expanding quickly and reliably, particularly at higher velocities.
Flat shooting and deadly accurate, it’s an ideal bullet for whitetails, as well as most North American game animals from antelope to moose and similar-sized African plains game. The SST® creates a devastatingly large wound channel.
- POLYMER TIP: Upon impact, the hard polymer tip drives into the lead core like a wedge, initiating lightning-fast, yet controlled expansion.
- SECANT OGIVE, BOATTAIL PROFILE: Incorporating the pioneering Hornady secant ogive design, the tapered point, increased bearing surface and more aerodynamic profile, combined with a boattail base, makes the SST® more efficient with less drag and greater stability.
- CANNELURE: A mid-body cannelure helps keep the core and jacket together while providing a consistent, accurate crimp during the loading process.

The Berger VLD Hunting Bullet is one of the flattest shooting hunting bullets in the industry. VLD Hunting Bullets are identical in design to VLD Target bullets except utilize a thinner J4 Precision jacket for rapid expansion during game applications. VLD Hunting Bullets are designed to penetrate 2-3″ and then begin to expand and create a massive wound cavity up to 15″. The hydrostatic shock causes most animals to drop immediately. VLD Hunting Bullets incoporate a secant ogive design which allows the bullet to experience less drag as it travels to the target. Sierra has had many requests for this bullet from our many quarter-bore friends. The tipped 110 gr. bullet offers an excellent medium-heavy weight hunting bullet with high B.C. The tipped design provides for a bullet that will be flat shooting and initiate good expansion. The heavily constructed jacket provides deep penetration. The 110 gr. will be an excellent bullet for medium and large game in most 25 caliber cartridges. The standard rate of twist in most 25 calibers is 1×10”. The exception being older 250-3000 rifles. This bullet requires a 1×10” twist or faster.

The 117 grain #1630 Spitzer Boat Tail GameKing bullet has a jacket produced by Sierra's unique four-station jacket draw process. This process produces jackets with maximum concentricity and uniformity together with uniform taper dimensions, resulting in bullets with extraordinary accuracy, dependable expansion, and deep penetration on medium game. The 117 grain #1630 bullet is best when ranges of shots are 200 to 500 yards.
